Facebook Keeps Up As The Most Searched Website

Facebook has become the most searched word on the internet and search engines at once became the most popular site during the year 2011.

Online research agency Experian Hitwise noted that Facebook acquire 3.1 percent of all searches in the United States throughout 2011. This percentage is up 46 percent compared with last year. Previously, Facebook is also the word most sought-after for three consecutive years.

In addition to search with the word Facebook, many Internet users are also doing a search word variations Facebook using the word ‘Facebook Login’, ‘Facebook.com’, and ‘www.facebook.com’. Variations of each word is ranked 3, 5, and 8.

Meanwhile, a YouTube search with the word in 2010 was in position 3, this year managed to rise to position 2.

In the United States alone, Facebook managed to become the most visited sites and accounted for 10.29 percent of all U.S. Internet site visits in the period January to November 2011. That number has increased 15 percent compared to 2010.

Google.com became the second most visited site by 7.70 percent, followed by YouTube at 3.17 percent.
